The career of Irma Thomas was celebrated in Memphis Wednesday night, when she was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.

On Thursday, Thomas attended the Blues Music Awards as a nominee in two categories.

She is a Grammy Award-winner and a member of the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame, which inducted Thomas in 2007.

Thomas will be back in New Orleans in time for her annual Mother's Day performance at Audubon Zoo.

Musician Taj Mahal was inducted into the Blues Hall along with Thomas on Wednesday.
