Blue Bella Records has its sights set on making 2010 its best year yet, announcing a handful of new releases scheduled to hit your record store shelves on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Leading the pack is a new disc from the label's founder, Nick Moss, titled Privileged.

The winner of the 2009 Blues Blast Award for "Band of the Year," Moss leads a Flip Tops line-up that includes the multi-instrumental talent Gerry Hundt, bassist "Stumpy" Hutchkins, and drummer Bob Carter through a set of high-octane burners that are said to be more rock-oriented and includes covers of songs by Cream ("Politician"), Stephen Stills ("For What It's Worth"), Howlin' Wolf ("Louise"), and Sonny Boy Williamson ("She's So Fine"), as well as Moss's well-written originals.

Kilborn Alley Blues Band's Better Off NowAlso on slate for March is the third Blue Bella album from Chicago's Kilborn Alley Blues Band, Better Off Now. Influenced by artists as diverse as bluesmen Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, and Buddy Guy as well as R&B greats like Little Milton and Johnnie Taylor, Better Off Now will provide listeners with a heavy dose of gritty blues, smooth soul, and raucous rhythm & blues.

The Cash Box Kings make their Blue Bella debut with I-94 Blues, a collection of originals and choice covers, while the last album scheduled for March is guitarist Matthew Stubbs' Blue Bella debut, Medford & Main. A collection of original instrumentals, writer Dennis Brennan says in his liner notes for the album, "Matt's thing on this recording is soul and blues-based guitar music. Like all the greats - Booker T. & the MGs, Freddie King and Stuff - the music connects with this listener in a primal way. I want to dance. I want to sing, and I want to make up my own words."
