Here's today's most interesting blues-based story: According to some musicologists on the Internet, the songs by Robert Johnson we've all been listening to over the last 50 years are apparently not heard as Johnson recorded them. See, when Columbia released the box set, King of the Delta Blues, it sped up the recordings. Whether that was accidental is up for debate, apparently--some say it was to make the songs more "exciting"--but thanks to some music software trickery, you can head to this website to read about and hear the difference. For instance, the original "Crossroad Blues" moves way faster than the "correct" version.
