16th Annual Silver City Blues Festival
Every Memorial Day weekend, the Mimbres Region Arts Council (MRAC) presents one of the Southwest's premiere FREE Blues Festivals. Starting on Friday, May 27, and wrapping up Sunday afternoon, May 29 in Gough Park.
This year’s headliners include Zac Harmon and Harry Manx with other outstanding groups and performers taking the stage over the weekend. Saturday, May 28, 2011: The Kat Crosby Band, The Continental Blues Band, The Shri Blues Band, The Reba Russell Band, and headliner Zac Harmon. Sunday, May 29, 2011: CW Ayon, The Pleasure Pilots, Big Jim Adam & John Stilwagen and headliner Harry Manx.
To add to the excitement there will be two ticketed events, a Friday evening kick off dance by The Coolers, a high-energy blues band from Tucson, will be held at the Buffalo Dance Hall downtown. A Saturday night jam session, featuring Saturday festival performers, will also be held at the Dance Hall.
The free Festival will feature five bands on Saturday, the "electric day" beginning at 12:30 p.m. and wrapping up until 9:00 p.m. Sunday's lineup features a more acoustic sound with four bands playing from noon until 6:30 p.m.
In addition to performers, each year, the Silver City Blues Festival attracts artisans from across the region. Handmade and one-of-a-kind fiber arts pieces, pottery, and jewelry can be found in the Artisans Courtyard framing the park.
While you are browsing and shopping, stop at one of the many food vendors and sample a variety of traditional festival and ethnic foods. In addition an Art Walk is planned in downtown Silver City on Sunday Morning.

The Silver City Blues Festival is one of the largest free blues festivals in the Southwest.
