Atlanta, along with many other fans worldwide, loves the Allman Brothers Band, collectively and individually. Now, Rolling Stone Magazine has reported that Gregg Allman has finished cutting a new CD with the legendary T-Bone Burnett. This will be his first new release in 14 years and the first producer he has worked with since longtime producer Tom Dowd died in 2002.

For this CD, Gregg has gone back to the blues he listened to growing up with his brother, Duane, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1971. There are songs by Muddy Waters, Sleepy John Estes, Little Milton, and others.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, there's a strong possibility that Burnett may produce the next Allman Brothers release, which will be there first since 2003. In the meantime, the band goes back on tour this month, the first time that Gregg has toured since receiving a liver transplant in June.

“I‟ve got my hand over my heart,” Gregg Allman says on his website, “and if it‟s a hit there, it‟s a hit.”

According to Gregg Allman's official website, the CD, entitled, "Low Country Blues," will be released on January 18, 2011.
