Daytona Beach, Florida has long been known for the quality of its dynamic live music scene and the great musicians who have roots here, people like Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Allman Brothers.

So it's not surprising that The Daytona Blues Society was founded here a few years ago by a few local residents with a passion to promote and showcase The Blues. Thanks to the support of the organization's growing membership and loyal fan base, the DBS is thriving, and national touring bands and local musicians now have a welcoming home in Northeast Florida.

Currently the group sponsors a world class blues jam every Wednesday night at the Bank & Blues Club (a.k.a. The Bank) on Daytona's funky Main Street starting at 9 pm.

Founding president Jeff Fedora is a performing roots blues artist, singer and songwriter. He calls himself "a lover and appreciator of live music. As a performer, the sounds of the Delta and the Hill Country are close to my heart.

"Give me a brokendown box guitar and a piece of brass pipe — and Daddy’s right with the world. When I grow up I wanna be RL Burnside, Muddy Waters, Hubert Sumlin, Hank Sr., Elmore James, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash all rolled up into one fat-nasty-rockin-ball!!"
