The Blue Ridge Blues Society is a grass roots educational 501(C)(3) non-profit, tax exempt, all volunteer organization governed by a Board of Directors and dedicated to the preservation, promotion and presentation of The Blues as a true American art form. The BRBS is an affiliated member of The Blues Foundation, the umbrella organization for a worldwide network of Blues Societies. The BRBS is involved in presenting the American Blues Tradition through concerts, forums, workshops and educational programs and in preserving local Virginia Blues Tradition through documentation of written, audio and visual media and our own Blues archives. The general funding is provided through membership dues, souvenir sales, corporate donations, grants and advertising.

Our monthly Membership meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month at Roanoke's Newest Hot Spot: The Blues & Jazz Themed Restaurant and Music Venue - Blue 5 !!!!! Our web site ( www.blueridgeblues.org ) is updated continuously to reflect current activities of the society and to relay Blues and Cultural Arts related news and events. The Founder and President of the BRBS hosts and produces The Blues Show radio program on WROV 96.3FM every Sunday night and the BRBS supplies some of the recordings used on this program.
