BLUEStage Club

398 W. Brooklyn Rd.
Napoleon, MI 49261

517) 536 - 0007

Q. Do I have to be a member to come to the BLUEStage Club?
A. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Anyone is admitted, some nights for free and some nights
with a cover charge or a ticket.

If you show up on a No Cover night like Tuesday or Thursday and wish to
purchase alcoholic beverages, you will need to purchase an Associate
Membership for just $1. Then you can purchase for yourself and
up to 3 additional guests. This level of membership has a time span of 30 days.

If you show up on a cover charge or ticketed event night, that is $5 or more, that fee
is all you pay. An Associate Membership is included in the price of admission.

In either case, you will be asked to fill out a short form, to keep the State Liquor
Control Commission happy and satisfy our paperwork requirements. This form
will ask for your name, address, city, state, zip, email and phone. Please print
legibly. Your contact info is kept private.

If you are not an alcohol drinker, there is no need to have a membership unless
you plan on buying a drink for your friends. We have good food and plenty of
non-alcoholic beverages on hand.

Q. What should I, or can I, bring to the electric Jam Sessions?
A. Guitars & basses (with a tuner, strap & cord), keyboards (w/stand), harmonicas
(w/mic if you have one), stick bag & percussion intruments, horns of any type.
Strange instruments of all kinds are welcome.

Q. Can I bring my amp?
A. No. We provide amps, pedals & chords for guitarists to keep the changeover
time to a minimum. Tone is not the issue at a jam, playing time is.
Keyboards are direct, and Horns are provided mics to the PA & monitors

Q. I am a vocalist, is there a place for me?
A. Yes. Vocal mics and plenty of monitor are provided. Keep in mind that you are
working in a jam session format. You need to know the key you want to sing in
and have words if you don't have a song memorized. Blues & Rock songs stand
the best chance of being known by the players but their backgrounds are usually
varied enough to be able to put together an arrangement. This is NOT a
karaoke situation. Don't expect the group of players to know every song you
want to sing.

Q. Is there a cover or a charge to play?
A. No cover is charged, nor is there a cost to sit in. It is expected, however, that
you purchase a couple of beverages or a beer & a burger basket to help keep
the lights on. The mortgage & utilities still gotta be paid each month.
Since we're inviting you into our extremely nice playpen and waiting on you at
your table, you should be willing to tip the bartender or waitress. If you are one
of those cheapskates who expects the waitress to bring you free water all night,
you will soon find yourself not being called up to play and following the dog to
lap up a little thirst quencher from the porcelain "mug"!

Q. Can our whole band get up and do a set?
A. Generally, no. We run a true jam session, taking people off the sign in sheet in
the approximate order they arrived at. Some adjustments are made so as not
to get all weak or unknown players on the bandstand at one time. When the
player sign in sheet is light, we will sometimes put a band up together for a 3
song (10-12 minute) slot so they can work in their comfort zone. After that, we
continue with our usual procedure. This is not a Battle of the Bands.
